Executive Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement
Augusta University is seeking an inspiring leader for the role of Executive Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. This senior-level position is integral to advancing the university’s mission by fostering a culture of philanthropy, strengthening alumni connections, and securing transformative financial support. The EVP will oversee a comprehensive portfolio including alumni affairs, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, major and planned giving, and prospect management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for all philanthropic and alumni initiatives, including capital campaigns and annual fundraising efforts.
- Build and maintain an active portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on seven-figure gifts and larger.
- Collaborate with the University President, executive leadership, deans, and foundation trustees to maximize fundraising efforts.
- Develop and implement an engaging alumni program to increase participation and support.
- Oversee a team of 35+ professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Establish performance metrics for development team and ensure transparency in all activities.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for Augusta University on matters of philanthropy and alumni relations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in philanthropy or alumni relations, ideally within higher education or healthcare.
- Proven track record of securing significant gifts, including seven-figure donations.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong strategic planning and data-driven decision making abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Deep affinity for the mission and vision of Augusta University.
