Executive Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement

Augusta University is seeking an inspiring leader for the role of Executive Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. This senior-level position is integral to advancing the university’s mission by fostering a culture of philanthropy, strengthening alumni connections, and securing transformative financial support. The EVP will oversee a comprehensive portfolio including alumni affairs, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, major and planned giving, and prospect management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead strategic planning for all philanthropic and alumni initiatives, including capital campaigns and annual fundraising efforts.
Build and maintain an active portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on seven-figure gifts and larger.
Collaborate with the University President, executive leadership, deans, and foundation trustees to maximize fundraising efforts.
Develop and implement an engaging alumni program to increase participation and support.
Oversee a team of 35+ professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Establish performance metrics for development team and ensure transparency in all activities.
Serve as a key spokesperson for Augusta University on matters of philanthropy and alumni relations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in philanthropy or alumni relations, ideally within higher education or healthcare.
Proven track record of securing significant gifts, including seven-figure donations.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
Strong strategic planning and data-driven decision making abilities.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Deep affinity for the mission and vision of Augusta University.
